Announcement RE: Christmas Dinner

🎄Town of Main Brook 🎄
🎄RE: Christmas Dinner🎄

The Mayor and Councillors apologizes that Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, we are unable to do a dinner for the Seniors, and Firemen at this time. As soon as we are permitted, we will announce a date to hold the event or contact residents to have meals delivered to your homes. We look forward to our community coming together in the new year once this pandemic is more controlled and we can meet in a safe environment.

Improper Disposal Costs Taxpayers Money in Sewer Repairs

The Town wishes to remind residents of the importance of proper disposal of garbage from residents and businesses. Flushing household waste and garbage down their toilets or dropping it in manholes creates sewer problems that cost us all a lot of money. We now have just one sewer pump working here in our Town with no backup, risking a literal s4!tstorm in the middle of a pandemic.

We will have parts arrive on Friday by PAL and we are keeping our fingers crossed so that nothing happens between now until Friday. The old pump has been sent to be repaired. We had to get the sewer pumping truck in due to so much water from the high tides/run off/rain. We removed large towels, industrial belts and other unusual waste from our pump when it was cleaned out. Before you throw things in the system think about the end result. There is a pandemic and many business are closed so we could have a huge problem creating a lot of hardship for our citizens if this type of action continues.

Prescription Delivery Service – Thanks United Way!

The United Way recently approved a grant application submitted on behalf of the Town!

The granted funds are to be used for:

  1. Purchasing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the fire department so they can resume in-home emergency services.
  2. Provide a 100% subsidized Prescription Pickup Service for approximately 24 weeks for prescriptions filled at the Roddickton Pharmasave (only)

We will pick up prescriptions on TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS and deliver them to your home. This service is available to Main Brook residents only and is for prescription pickup only,

How to Use the Service

  1. Call in your prescription and let the pharmacist know you will be using the “Main Brook Prescription Delivery service” for pickup and give your verbal consent to allow us to pickup your prescription.
  2. Provide your payment information over the phone to the pharmacist (sorry, our drivers cannot handle ANY payment information other than providing the pharmacy receipt along with your prescription).
  3. Please phone or email the Town Office to notify us if you have a prescription to pickup and arrange a delivery time or if you have questions about this service.

865-6561 [email protected]

The Town is going to keep statistics on the use of this service. If the service is used by many residents, our hope is that a resident will start a business offering this service and the Town could assist in acquiring operating grants.

A big thank you to the United Way for helping keep our seniors and community safe while we make it through the COVID19 pandemic together.

Condolences to NS RCMP
